A short pause at home can make exercise fit a busy mom’s day, even when a drive across town or a full hour is out of reach. Ten minutes can fit between ordinary tasks while your toddler plays nearby. Aim for a pocket of movement you can repeat.

A Little Movement, Without the Commute
JAMA’s summary of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans notes that even short episodes of activity can provide benefits, and no longer need to last 10 minutes to count toward the weekly total. A ten-minute session can still be a practical starting point when time is tight.
For moms who prefer a dedicated home setup, a bellicon rebounder offers another way to fit cardio into a ten-minute window. Use a little open floor space instead of commuting to a gym. Adjust the pace to your energy and stop when ten minutes are up.
Set Up a Safe, Realistic Pocket of Time
Choose a ten-minute window when your toddler is usually content with a familiar toy or activity. Set up where you can see the play area. Give your child a separate spot to play. Move toys, small parts, and other trip hazards out of your movement space. If you’re using a bellicon Trampoline, keep its jumping area off-limits while you exercise. Your toddler can play nearby, away from the equipment.
Before you begin, set out water and wear clothes you can move in. Check that the trampoline’s legs are secure, if you’re using one. Some bellicon Trampoline models have a professional-grade T-bar for support during exercise. Follow your equipment’s setup and use instructions.
Interruptions are part of the plan. If your toddler needs you, pause and resume later or finish in shorter stretches. Choose moves that are easy to resume after a break. If you’re returning to exercise after childbirth, check with your healthcare provider before starting.

Follow This Simple 10-Minute Cardio Routine
Use one-minute intervals and keep your feet close to the floor.
- Minute 1: March in place, swinging your arms gently.
- Minute 2: Step side to side. Keep the steps narrow if space is tight.
- Minute 3: Alternate heel digs in front of you, adding relaxed arm swings.
- Minute 4: Lift one knee at a time. For an easier option, tap each toe forward instead.
- Minute 5: Step to your right and raise your right arm overhead, then switch sides.
- Minute 6: March again.
- Minute 7: Tap one foot behind you, alternating sides. Hold the movement small.
- Minute 8: Repeat the side steps, with a gentle arm swing.
- Minute 9: Return to alternating heel digs.
- Minute 10: March slowly and let your breathing settle.
Keep your arms low or skip the reaches when your energy dips. Aim for movement that feels manageable enough to repeat.
Make the Routine Work for Your Day
Try this routine a few days each week at times that work for you. ACE’s mini-trampoline research also emphasizes the importance of consistency over time. If ten minutes won’t fit, split the routine into two five-minute sessions. Repeat the same sequence to avoid planning a new workout. On days when your toddler needs more attention, pause and resume when you can.
