Hello Monday

Good morning blog readers! The Monday is off to a good start with a beautiful sunny day. There’s still a nice chill in the air and I’m trying to soak that in before it turns to hot sticky summer. I’ve got a busy week lined up getting ready for the Beaches Library Comic Fest on Saturday.

hello monday

I’ll be on the local news, in costume both Thursday and Friday mornings around 9AM to talk about Comic Fest. Still waiting on exact times but will share those ones I get them.

This morning, I published on Geek Mamas, all about the latest social media scams to watch out for, because you can’t get online these days without someone hitting you up to be an ambassador or help them get back into their account. I’ve done several articles that delve into each scam, with examples of the messages they send and how the scam works.

My big project today is working on a new website for the Friends of the Beaches Branch Library. I plan to build that here on WordPress since I’ve been using this platform for 10+ years.

That’s it for the news updates. Hope you all have a good week 🙂

Making Peace with Mondays: How to Start the Week Strong

My Monday i off to a good start, but Mondays often get a bad rap overall. For many, the first day of the week symbolizes the end of weekend freedom and the start of a demanding work or school schedule.

Social media is rife with memes and jokes about the so-called “Monday blues,” painting it as a day of dread. But what if we reframed our perspective on Mondays? Instead of a symbol of drudgery, Mondays can become an opportunity for fresh starts, new goals, and renewed energy.

Turning Mondays into a Positive Experience

  1. Prepare on Sunday A smooth Monday starts with a well-organized Sunday. Spend some time planning your week, setting priorities, and even prepping meals or outfits. This reduces decision fatigue and sets you up for a productive start.
  2. Set a Goal for the Week Instead of dreading the beginning of the week, see it as a chance to set intentions. What’s one thing you want to achieve by Friday? Whether it’s a professional milestone, a fitness goal, or quality time with family, having a target can give you a sense of purpose.
  3. Adopt a Morning Ritual Creating a morning routine you look forward to can ease the Monday transition. Whether it’s savoring a cup of coffee, journaling, meditating, or exercising, a calming ritual can shift your mood and mindset.
  4. Reframe Your Thoughts Shift your perspective by focusing on the opportunities Mondays bring. It’s a blank slate, a new chapter, and a chance to make progress. Remind yourself that every successful person started their week on a Monday too.
  5. Treat Yourself Plan something enjoyable for Mondays to make the day more appealing. Whether it’s lunch at your favorite spot, a relaxing evening activity, or even a small indulgence like a new playlist, having something to look forward to can change your outlook.

Fun Facts About Mondays

  • In many languages, the word for Monday is linked to the moon, such as “Lunes” in Spanish and “Lundi” in French, both derived from Luna, the Latin word for moon.
  • Studies suggest that productivity tends to peak on Mondays, contrary to popular belief.
  • The Monday blues aren’t universal—cultures with different workweeks may experience similar feelings on other days.

Embracing Mondays

Mondays don’t have to be a source of anxiety or negativity. By preparing in advance, cultivating positive habits, and changing your mindset, you can transform them into a day of opportunity.

I actually enjoy Mondays as each one is a chance to reset, refocus, and reignite my goals. Instead of dreading the day, embrace it as the start of something great.

After all, every successful week begins with a Monday!
