There’s a new kids book in town, literally in my case since the author is right here in my neighborhood! Wild About the Alphabet! (and Other Tales) by Mike Crowder is a humorous and colorful journey through the alphabet from A to Z, with plenty of surprises along the way.
If you are looking for something beyond “A is for Apple, B is for Boy,” then this is the alphabet book for you. You might even learn something yourself while reading this kids book – do you know what an Echidna is? Well now I do. And maybe somebody should tell WordPress, because this spellcheck keeps insisting it’s not even a word! At least it recognizes Zebu.
There’s lots of other unique animals, plus interesting facts about each one. We had fun going through the pages and trying to pronounce the animal names. There’s even a handy pronunciation guide in the back to help kids and parents. Overall we found it to be great book for teaching the alphabet and expanding your vocabulary.
