You might be wondering what’s the big deal about light therapy and what do these masks actually do? I’ll share a bit of the science behind it, along with my personal experience.

YOEYOU Light Therapy Mask Review
I was specifically interested in the red light benefits, but it seems like most of these masks now come offering a variety of colors for different purposes. This one has seven colors, but I’ve really only used the red.
The wavelengths for this mask are 440nm-630nm, which is like the low end of the red light treatments you get at a spa. You can choose between three light levels, but of course I cranked it all the way up every time.
Wearing the Mask
I was actually a little surprised at first that the mask was soft and floppy- I guess from the pictures, I was expecting a hard curved mask.
You attached the straps with Velcro and then strap it to your head. I just used the side straps, and it was easy to keep on. I do find it funny that the product photos show people working on the computer and sleeping with it, which I don’t recommend.
I found I could wear it while using my phone, but I couldn’t type on the computer with it on. The light was too bright when I looked down.
I found it fairly comfortable to wear, and it just gets a little warm near then end- not hot. After using it, my skin does have a nice glow. Of course, I did just heat it up with red lights.
My Personal Results
As far as whether I have seen a long-term result? I can’t say exactly what benefits are from the mask because I also use face products. But I wouldn’t be continuing to use the mask if I didn’t think it was working. I usually do 15 minutes on my face, and then strap it around my neck for 15 minutes more.
They recommend using 3-5 times a week for 10-20 minutes each time and claim you can see results in about four weeks. It’s easy to work that in, it just depends on whether you mind looking crazy around your housemates, lol. I feel like Iron Man when I wear it.
Update After 1 Month of Use:
I just went for a facial at a spa and mentioned I had rosacea, and the aesthetician mentioned she didn’t see any evidence of that at the moment and that my skin actually looked really good! That’s a first. And that’s the first facial I’ve had in a year. So, I’m definitely going to keep using this! I didn’t even think about it helping my rosacea, which occasionally flares up.

The mask comes with a USB plug, and you charge up the remote, then attach that to the mask. I can use the mask three or four times without needing to charge it.
