Have you seen the viral blue lipstick on your social media feed? It’s Wonderskin’s Wonder Blading Lip Stain that’s supposed to last all day and be transfer-proof and smudge-proof. I gave it a test run to see if it really worked like they show in those peel and reveal videos.
The girls in those videos all have perfect puffy 20-year-old lips that look amazing. So, let’s see how it works on 50-year-old little un-augmented lips. I posted my video giving it a try at the end of this post.

I bought the above products on the Wonderskin website, which is two lip stains, lip liner, Wonder Blading spray and the gloss for $49.45. I originally had just one lip stain, but they offer you a “flash sale” deal when you check out to add another one, and it was a good price, so I went for it.
This is not a sponsored review, and I did not sign up for their affiliate program because I wouldn’t 100% recommend buying it.
Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain
First, let me explain what Wonder Blading Lip Stain is. Every lip shade is blue in the tube. You put it on, then can either wipe it off, or spray on an activator and (supposedly) peel it off.
It leaves a stain on your lips that is supposed to last all day. In reality, I found it to be long-lasting, but not all-day perfect. More like 3-5 hours, depending on the application technique.
The name plays off the company name- Wonderskin, and the idea of “microblading” (the semi-permanent eyebrow technique), which people associate with long-lasting beauty results. Instead of tattooing pigment under the skin, though, Wonder Blading is a peel-off stain that sits on the lips.
How it to Use the Lip Stain
- Start by exfoliating your lips.
- Put on a thick coat of blue color.
- Wait 15 – 60 seconds, depending on how intense you want it.
- Either wipe it off, or spray activator spray, then peel off.
- Optional: Add lip liner and gloss.

What Really Happens: The True Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain Review
I started by exfoliating my lips and giving them a good scrub with a washcloth.
Next, I applied the Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain, in the shade Whimsical. That is the shade I saw in one of the videos and liked it. Of course, it just looks blue going on.
It did not go on thick and smooth like in the videos! It was thin and patchy and I kept having to dip it back in and try and goop it up. And the video also recommended going slightly outside your lip line to make your lips a bit bigger, so I did.

Next step: Wonder Blading Activator Spray
I’ll be honest, I do not like this stuff, and it is unnecessary. It’s just a gimmick. You can easily just wipe the lip stain right off to reveal the color.
The first time I tried it, it went all over my face.
They recommend spraying it 4″ away and putting a tissue on your chin. All that does it leave the upper half of your face to get sprayed.

I did not have good luck with this stuff! I thought maybe I wasn’t applying enough to get a nice “Peel & Reveal” like the videos.
So, I tried again and applied it heavily, sprayed, and it still came off in little bits and pieces. It still required me to wipe it off with a cloth to get all the little blue bits.
No matter what I tried, I couldn’t get it to peel off right.

The Lip Stain Results
The immediate result was a bit patchy. And where I had gone outside my lips, it just kind of looked like an allergic reaction. Not so great.
And it says it is supposed to be hydrating, but my lips felt a bit dried out.
Below is my awful up-close photo. Just ignore everything else and look at the lips lol. The stain is a bit spotty and needs some help.

Side note- I’ve been watching Wednesday, and this is kind of how her lips look- unevenly stained and undefined. So maybe this is a look people actually want? If so, then you’ll like this stuff!
As I mentioned, I have older lips, so I needed the help of the lip liner around the outside to make the lines nice and smooth. With the stain, it accentuates the small lip lines.
The lip liner is actually the one product I really liked! I got the 360 Contour Lip Liner in Rosewood and liked the color and how well it went on. I used it to outline my lips and fill in the patchiness. This is something I know I will use again.

Wonderskin Wonder Blading Top Gloss
The Wonderskin Wonder Blading Top Gloss is another product I really didn’t like. It was too thick, heavy, sticky and shiny.
It actually looks better in the photos than it does in person. And it did not feel great on my lips.
I liked it better after wiping a bit off but overall would not recommend it. The photo below is the final look, with the gloss mostly wiped off.

So, Did It Last All Day?
Sadly, no, it did not last all day or through my dinner test run. It was transfer-proof right after you apply it, but once you add the sticky layer of lip gloss, then you leave gloss prints everywhere.
And it is long-lasting! Just more like a few hours rather than a full day or night.
The Final Verdict
The Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain review in a nutshell: no, I don’t really recommend it unless maybe you have perfect lips already that look good in everything.
I did like the color and I did get it to look good after adding lip liner and a light coat of gloss, but if I did all that to any lip color, it would have good staying power. Why use this if I still have to do all that?
The good news is that is mostly wipes off easily with a makeup remover towelette. After that, it still left my lips lightly stained but not inflamed looking like before. I added a bit of lip balm on top and actually liked the look of the barely-there stain.
