Why Are People Commenting Nice Try Diddy on Instagram Ads?

I noticed a bunch of comments on Instagram ads, and they all say, “Nice Try Diddy.” One after another. It made me wonder, what’s up with Diddy? Why all the comments? What joke am I not getting?

There are some variations to the comment, as you can see on the screenshot below, it says, “Nice try super Diddy.”

It’s a Diddy Meme Thing

If you have access to the Internet or TV, then you probably know Diddy’s been in a lot of trouble lately. So much trouble, that it spawned a bunch of memes.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious legal accusations, including charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking involving force, fraud, and coercion. These claims suggest that he used abusive and manipulative methods to facilitate trafficking activities during parties he called “Freak Offs.”

His legal team is actively opposing the release of sensitive details to the public, while the case has drawn widespread attention. Additionally, there is speculation that more accusers may step forward with similar allegations.

However, so many details have been released that it became a meme, insinuating that Diddy is involved in everything.

The memes turned into viral comment spam that’s popping up everywhere, not just on Instagram.

Viral comment spam refers to the practice of posting repetitive, irrelevant, or promotional comments en masse across social media platforms, blogs, or forums, often in an attempt to manipulate visibility, spread misinformation, or promote products and services.

For example, the promosm comment that is on so many YouTube videos.

These comments can sometimes mimic humor, memes, or cultural references to blend in, but their intent is often to exploit engagement algorithms or advertise something without user consent.

However, most of the comments I’ve seen on Instagram appear to be there just to be annoying. They don’t appear to have an alternative agenda rather than just having something funny to comment.
