Just the Recipe Cuts the Clutter from Cooking Blogs Posts

If you’ve ever been frustrated by trying to weed through a recipe post and can’t find the actual recipe, this app is for you! I hate searching recipes online and finding out everything about the food except how to make it. I usually give up and go find one of my nice, simple, uncluttered cookbooks.

No More Digging for the Recipe

JustTheRecipe.com makes all the fluff go away! You just plug in the url of the post, and it takes away all the ads, pop-ups and life story background and just gives you an easy-to-read ingredient list and instructions. It’s brilliant.

It works the same on the website, and on the app. Here’s an example of a cleaned-up recipe:

See how easy that is to follow? It also gives you the option to save your recipes and print them as well.

There’s a two-week free trial and after that, it’s either $2 a month, or $15/yr. If you often look up recipes online, it’s totally worth it. I have more than one blog post of me complaining about how much I hate trying to find a recipe.

I can find out how their grandpa taught them to cook it when they were six, but for the life of me can’t find out where they hide the actual instructions. And the ads and pop-ups! Oh, how I hate pop-ups.

I am not affiliated with this website/app, and do not make a commission off sales. I just liked it so much I had to share.

Why Are Recipe Posts So Long?

Recipe posts are so long for the same reason that this post is still going and not ending after I gave you the important details. (At least I gave them to you up front and you didn’t have to hunt!) Bloggers need more words to make the content longer so search engines will pick up the post.

More words gives them more info and leads to a higher ranking. Google may love that story about how apple picking in France inspired your special apple tart recipe, but we just want the details.

Also, just posting a simple recipe doesn’t take up much space, which means less room for ads. You have to get real chatty to fill a page and have room to cram in all those ads and pop-ups. I always try to keep my ads to a minimum because I can’t stand them myself. I wouldn’t want to write a blog I didn’t want to read.

And finally, some of them do it due to copyright law, which states that a recipe can’t be copyrighted unless it is accompanied by significant text.

And now that I’ve managed to fill this up with 400+ words, it’s time to wrap things up and go search a recipe for dinner. Because now I know I can actually use the recipes I find and stop wasting so much time digging through the fluff.

As a side note, I shared this on Facebook and now the recipe bloggers are all mad at me saying it’s hurting them when people do this. For those that are concerned about the livelihood of the recipe bloggers, you still have to go to their website and still have to read through the blog post to see if you like the recipe.

They still get the traffic, the ads still pop-up, but then you can cut and paste and clean it up to make it easy to use. I had given up on cooking blogs until finding this.

So, it’s actually bringing more people in because they can actually use the content as intended without all the frustration.
