The Easiest Thing You Can Do to Increase Blog Traffic

I’ve been blogging for a long time over on Geek Mamas, and resurrecting this side blog project has been a learning experience. It’s basically starting over from scratch as a new blogger. So because the views are are so low, some days at zero even, it was easy to see the one thing that had a direct effect on my views.

How to Increase Blog Traffic Guaranteed

So as I’ve been posting on this old blog that has sat quietly with no activity in about a year, I’ve watched it come back to life. First with a few views every few days, then a few more and now I have views trickling in almost every day. But there’s one thing I’ve notice I can do to increase the traffic flow.

You might be thinking, SEO! Keywords! Guest Posts! And yes, those things do help of course. Those are all things that should be part of what you’re doing anyway, and they help not drive traffic today, but permanently.

What I’m talking about is something you can do today, that will immediately add to your views.

And if you do it again tomorrow, you’ll see the same thing. And you’ll see it starts to add up!

And then the more you do it, the more you will start getting picked up by search engines.

Have you guessed what it is yet?

It’s simple: Just Post It

just post something how to increase blog traffic

I’ve noticed every time I post, traffic goes up. WordPress has this nifty little feature called the Reader and even if you have 0 subscribers, your post goes out on the Reader and will most likely be seen by somebody! And those new readers will have the option to subscribe by e-mail or on WordPress so they’ll see each new post.

And the more you post, the more you have a chance of being found by search engines. So while later on in blog life, you’ll want to focus on quality of over quantity (at least, I hope) just focus on cranking something out as much as possible right now. If you can blog once a day, do it. Even if it’s just some random post about what you had for breakfast, do it.

Benefits of Blog Posting Daily

The more you post when just starting out, the more you learn to use the features of your blog. I wrote a whole post over on Geek Mamas that the best time to post is whatever time works for you. While that is still true, if you want to give your blog a jump start, then try and aim for at least 4 times a week.

You’ll usually see a jump in stats on day 1 of a post. Then it trickles down, but still get some traffic on day 2. So if you keep a steady stream of posts going every other day, then you keep that blog traffic flowing.

So that’s what I’m trying to do over here. Post as much as I can and keep the new traffic coming in.

Good luck on your blogging endeavors, I’m off to press post on this one.
